Celebrating Half a Decade

Five Years, Countless Memories WanaFusion first opened its doors in 2021 with a simple vision: to bring Wanaka a modern Asian dining experience unlike anything else in town. At the time, Wanaka had plenty of great places to eat, but there was very little that truly showcased contemporary Asian cuisine inspired by the vibrant flavours of Vietnam, Thailand, Hong Kong and beyond. Founder Young believed there was room for something different—refined, welcoming, and built around quality local ingredients. Five years later, WanaFusion continues to grow. The hospitality industry is known for its challenges. It's often said that around 60% of restaurants don't make it beyond their first five years. Reaching this milestone is something we're incredibly proud of, and it's only possible because of our loyal guests and dedicated team. Today, WanaFusion has entered its second generation of management, with Alex continuing Young's vision while bringing fresh ideas for the future. Although leadership has changed, many familiar faces remain. Chefs Lek, Pat, and Tik have been part of WanaFusion since the early days, helping create the consistency and quality our guests have come to know and love. Together with Trung, Chelsea, and the rest of our team, we're committed to making every visit memorable. As we celebrate our fifth year, our goal is simple: To keep growing, keep improving, and hopefully celebrate our tenth anniversary with the same passion that started it all.
